Bringing pet animals into Argentina
The
Consulate does not issue permits to enter pet animals into
Argentina. Owners must make shipping arrangements with airlines
directly. To avoid quarantine upon arrival in Argentina, the
following documents are required to enter DOGS or CATS :
(1)
Anti-rabies vaccination certificate.
(2)
Good health certificate, no older than 10 days from the date of
the animal’s arrival to Argentina Both
certificates must be issued by a licensed veterinarian and
certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant
Health Inspection Division, Veterinary Services. To locate an
accredited veterinarian and the VS Area Office for your state,

The Consulate does not need to authenticate these documents, which
must be submitted directly to the airline.
Information to enter FERRETS and other PET
MUSTELIDS into Argentina
Return of human remains to Argentina
The
Consulate does not issue permits to return human remains to
Argentina. Relatives or a person responsible
must coordinate shipping arrangements with funeral homes and cargo
airlines directly. For
transportation of the body of the deceased, the following
documents are required:
(1)
Death certificate.
(2)
Non-contagious disease certificate from the local health
authority, stating that the deceased had no
communicable/contagious diseases.
(3)
Embalmer’s certificate from a licensed funeral home director,
stating that the body has been embalmed in accordance with
international shipping regulations and placed in a hermetically
sealed metal
container and an outside wood container for transportation. The
embalmer’s certificate must be notarized and certified by the
county clerk.
For
transportation of human ashes, the following documents are
required:
(1)
Death certificate.
(2)
Cremation certificate, issued by the crematorium, stating
that the urn contains nothing but human ashes and the name
of the deceased. All documents must bear the “Apostille,”
issued by the State authentication authority.
Where
can I get the Hague Legalization
Convention “Apostille” certificate
on a document? The
Consulate does not need to further authenticate these documents,
which should be submitted directly to the
airline.
